Legal Department Managers
Ms. Barrenechea holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Law awarded by Deusto University (Universidad de Deusto) in the year 1992. She also successfully completed the Master of Laws programme (LLM) at the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) - 1991-1992.
Ms. Barrenechea is a member of the Bizkaia Law Society since the year 1992, and she is specialized on Procedural Law. Her practice area has been focused mainly on civil litigation, though she has also a substantial experience on the contentious-administrative, criminal and labour jurisdictions.
Besides, she also practises within the area of real property by providing advisory services to companies engaged in the promotion and building of both public and private projects, as well as to companies operating in the industrial sector. She provides assistance both in the conclusion of contracts and in the management of legal proceedings before Spanish courts.
Ms. Barrenechea collaborates on a regular basis as a speaker in seminars and lectures, and at present she works as a trainer at the School for Legal Practice of the Bizkaia Law Society (Escuela de Práctica Jurídica del Colegio de Abogados de Bizkaia) - Negotiation and Contracts -, and also at the Master Degree in Legal Counselling run by Deusto University (Máster de Asesoría Jurídica de la Universidad de Deusto) - Arbitration and Mediation -.
Mr. Redondo holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Law, and a Master Degree in Company Legal Counselling, awarded by Deusto University (Universidad de Deusto) in the years 1991 and 1992 respectively.
Mr. Redondo is a member of the Bizkaia Law Society since the year 1993.
After practising for many years at courts and tribunals, and providing legal and tax counselling services to large businesses, he joined SBAL in the year 2000.
His main area of practice within SBAL is focused on legal counselling (commercial, contractual and business) and tax counselling (company tax, Value Added Tax, and international taxation) to large businesses, on the design of company restructuring operations (mergers and demergers), and on the management of legal proceedings involving actions brought against public bodies.
Mr. Álvarz holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Law, and a Master Degree in Tax Consulting, awarded by Deusto University (Universidad de Deusto) in the years 1989 and 1990 respectively.
Mr. Álvarez is a member of the Bizkaia Law Society since the year 1990.
Mr. Álvarez Mr. Ruiz joined SBAL in the year 1991. He specializes mainly in litigations concerning tax matters (management of both appeals and claims regarding tax assessments and tax audit reports), in Commercial and Company Law, specially on commercial contracts, company restructuring processes (mergers and demergers), acquisitions and sales of companies, shareholder disputes, and insolvency proceedings, amongst others.
Mr. Álvarez is a member of the Board of Directors of several companies and groups operating in different sectors, rendering his services either as Secretary of the Board or as Legal Advisor.
Mr. Álvarez collaborates as speaker in talks and conferences on Insolvency Law, Capital Companies Law, etc.
